Christophe welcomes the opportunity of working one-on-one with clients, creating a bespoke sculpture for a particular place or person of any size to suit any location across the globe. His work includes small interior stone sculptures to large scale garden and public sculpture commissions. His work is now nearly always site-specific and Christophe enjoys engaging and working with clients in the creative thinking process when formulating ideas for a piece. Christophe is also very happy to meet potential clients across Australia.

It is always best to speak to Christophe directly for an informal chat and more information to discuss options. He is completely open to clients ideas and the commission process itself is quite simple.

The Commissioning Process

1: An initial consultation is carried out with the client to discuss themes, ideas, subject matter, location, size, budget, deadline, installation and delivery requirements,
2: Christophe proposes a selection of drawings and options based on the information provided.  These ideas are then discussed with the client again,
3: When the drawings, and (if required) a miniature version of the concept in clay , are agreed upon, a suitable block of sandstone will be obtained for carving. At this stage a 50% deposit will be payable,
4: The creation of the sculpture will begin and progressive photographs will be provided along the way.
5: The delivery and installation of the sculpture will be completed.

When undertaking a commission, Christophe likes to make an on site-visit to assess its qualities and requirements first. If this is not possible, he will request photographs of the desired space as it is best to get an idea of scale and surrounding themes and styles at first hand. Christophe also keeps the client involved at all times with progressive photographs.

A commission may take anywhere between 6 weeks and 5 months to complete depending on the size, number of pieces required and complexity of the sculptures and delivery location.

All Christophe’s sculptures are unique, even if it is strongly related to his previous work. Some clients prefer to commission a completely new piece, whilst others prefer something related to a sculpture they have already seen, perhaps in a different form or on a different scale.

There is no obligation at all in discussing your requirements and you don’t need to be a resident in Australia to commission a sculpture. Christophe can quote and organise delivery of his work to anywhere in the world.

Quote for a commission include site visits, the final delivery and safe installation of the sculpture where possible. If you are in another state or part of the world, then Christophe can arrange a quote for delivery via freight – Pack and Send deliver anywhere on earth.
